I recently upset quite a few people with a post about Aimee Winder Newton. To which AWN promptly replied and offered to do lunch. This is her M.O. I have no doubt she would spend 100 hours a week having one on one conversations with the public at large. It's the different AWN in those conversations than AWN on the record. This is common in Utah politics. If you engage in an honest conversation about about your opponents in public, you're attacking them. Engaging in a whisper campaign or have third parties attack your opponent in this way and they are denied an opportunity to refute anything. It's a tactic of cowards. AWN engaged in this activity during the primary up to convention and after she endorsed Spencer Cox.
AWN engaged in slander tactics.
AWN accused Greg Hughes of unethical behavior and personal gain. This a known leftist tactic. Kick up as much dust as possible and when anyone tries to find out about the candidate it's the first thing that comes up. It was most apparent on a national level with outrageous campaign to oust President Trump from office. Leftists are doing this constantly to conservatives. It's our obligations to recognize it when it happens and call it out when it happens. What AWN does is she attacks off the record. She alludes to multiple wrong doings while never providing any substantive information to back up her claim. Simply stating she has it and won't share it. Which is indicative of someone not concerned about corruption or ethical issues, but someone with a vested interest in seeing someone else fail. AWN has a vested interest in seeing Greg Hughes fail. AWN she needs to validate her candidacy over his, show how justified she was in endorsing Spencer Cox and show that Trump and his supporters were wrong this whole time.
AWM tried to get Hillary Clinton elected in 2016.
AWM tried to get Hillary Clinton elected in 2016. AWN was one of the loudest voices in the state of Utah in 2016 supporting Evan McMullin. McMullin wasn't a viable candidate for president in 2016. His entire candidacy was an attempt to split the vote in Utah and get Hillary Clinton Utah's electoral votes. Any argument to the contrary is only made out of supreme ignorance or stupidity. Check the box that fits. Whether through ignorance or malice the outcome is the same. It was politically expedient in the days leading up to the 2016 to distance from now President Trump. As predictions, models, and polls mostly showed him losing in 2016. When Trump won the primary in Utah by almost 90% in 2020 we saw multiple Never Trumpers proclaim their support albeit in a week and half hearted way. If AWN had a road to Damascus moment on Trump she did a great job of hiding it. Our President is constantly attacked by the worst of people. Most especially in the state of Utah. Did she every speak up about impeachment? Is she ever on record defending him?
AWN endorsed a infanticidal kleptocrat for governor.
What does it mean to claim your pro-life when any substantive bill that comes you not only vote against it you storm out of the building. That is exactly what Spencer Cox's running mate, Deidre Henderson, did. Of innumerable forms of fake wrestling that goes on in legislative sessions this has to be the worst. Pro-life bills will get pushed as token gestures without any substantive change. The bill Senator Henderson stormed out of was substantive. It will have saved lives. Henderson not only questioned and attacked the bill from the very beginning but she even amended to address those concerns. While Senator Weiler is out on facebook showing pictures of vaginal ultrasound wand, Mary Taylor of Pro-Life Utah is quickly able to put that false narrative to rest(See her interview with Rod Arquette). The Cox Henderson campaign received $75,000 dollars from the NEA. The NEA is a radical left wing organization that pushed common core and left wing indoctrination on the nation's children.
Position from the NEA:
The NEA will honor the leadership of women, non-binary, and trans people, and other survivors who have come forward to publicly name their rapists and attackers in the growing, international, #MeToo movement.
Furthermore, the NEA will include an assertion of our defense of a person’s right to control their own body, especially for women, youth, and sexually marginalized people. The NEA vigorously opposes all attacks on the right to choose and stands on the fundamental right to abortion under Roe v. Wade.
AWN was silent on the no bid contracts to companies that endorsed Spencer Cox for Governor. It what appears to be a pattern of implied quid pro quo situations with the Cox Henderson ticket. As Herbert had met with Thomas Wright to suggest support for future political endeavors for dropping out and endorsing Spencer Cox. At this point we need to questioning and looking into any entities or individuals who endorsed Spencer Cox in the primary. AWN's endorsement of Spencer Cox is radically inconsistent with the positions she took in her gubernatorial campaign, the caucus, taxes, pro-life, and pro-2A.
When Romney associate, Cox FANATIC, and devout Never-Trumper Tanner Ainge engaged in low level identity politics by retweeting a story about Nathan Ivie losing his seat due to his sexuality. AWN commented that Nathan Ivie is awesome. Ivie lost the GOP nomination because he raised property taxes in Utah County over 67% not to reasons he claims. AWN has solid record on rejecting identity politics. This is activity is inconsistent with that.
AWN is a living microcosm of the efforts in the state of Utah to destroy the conservative movement and an example of we need to work to replace in our state.
